New ideas for Granny Mouse as the Banqueting team changes

Granny Mouse Country House & Spa has recently employed Ane du Preez as the new Banqueting Manger, dealing with all conferences, banquets and weddings.

Hailing from the North West Province and training in Hospitality Management in Pretoria, Du Preez brings a wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm to the team.

Having spent time working for Rovos Rail and the Blades Hotel in Pretoria,  Du Preez has run a number of key events, and having never been to the KZN Midlands before, simply fell in love with the entire area, and in particular with Granny Mouse Country House & Spa.

Over the years, Du Preez admits that she has dealt with some rather strange request from guests, including an overseas couple who insisted on having an outdoor wedding, and then arrived two hours late for the ceremony, resulting in them being married in almost complete darkness. “Another event that comes to mind was a large event which a client insisted be hosted outdoors, despite my advice that rain was a certainty, and nevertheless, resulted in a very muddy event,” she laughed.

When chatting to Du Preez, one piece of advice that she offers is that whether you’re planning a corporate event, banquet or wedding, start your planning as early as possible, as this gives you time to evaluate all your options and generally makes for a more pleasant event.

When at Granny Mouse Country House & Spa, you will often see Ane walking the property with prospective clients showing them all that the property has to offer.
