It’s summer and what better time of the year to have your wedding than when it is warm and bright. Durban and the KZN Midlands almost always pose the perfect scenery with sunshine, a cool breeze and fresh scents in the air that make for a pleasing setting for a wedding or special event.

For summer, Ane Du Preez, the Banqueting Manager of Granny Mouse, suggests that couples choose a brighter theme for the décor as a starting point. “This brings in an element of happiness to the reception area where guests are seated,” she says.

For the Menu, she adds that Chef Shaun Dampies will sit with the couple to discuss the best dishes for their summer wedding. “I like to advise couples to make the most of using salads, cold meats, cold desserts and refreshing drinks, especially for an afternoon summer wedding,” Dampies says.
