With this day marked specifically for cocoa laded items, it is an excuse for you to indulge in all your favourite assortments.<\/p>\n<p>Granny Mouse Country House &amp; Spa love celebrating this special day and this year, Culinary Artist, Kirstie Du Toit has created a chocolate infused dessert recipe, which is sure to end your World Chocolate day off with a smile.<\/p>\n<p>Recipe: Chocolate Crepes filled with Brandied Bananas &amp; Chocolate Sauce<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">To make the crepes you will need: <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>220g\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 All Purpose Flour<\/p>\n<p>2Tbsp\u00a0\u00a0 Unsweetened Cocoa Powder<\/p>\n<p>1 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Egg, beaten<\/p>\n<p>312ml\u00a0\u00a0 Milk<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Method:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Sift the flour and the cocoa powder into a bowl.<\/p>\n<p>Make a well in the middle and add the beaten egg.<\/p>\n<p>Gradually mix in the flour by folding the flour from the sides into the egg.<\/p>\n<p>Slowly add in the milk and mix well.<\/p>\n<p>Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or a lid and let it stand for 30min before use.<\/p>\n<p>Heat a pan on low heat and spray with non-stick spray.<\/p>\n<p>Drop 1 teaspoon of oil into the pan and make sure to cover the surface of the pan.<\/p>\n<p>Pour in the crepe mix, the amount you pour into the pan depends on how thick your crepes will be.<\/p>\n<p>Spread the mixture evenly over the pan and cook until the sides come loose, then flip over.<\/p>\n<p>Cook the other side for a few minutes and remove onto a plate.<\/p>\n<p>Continue this until the mixture is finished.<\/p>\n<p>Cover the pancakes with cling wrap until needed.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">What you will need for the brandied bananas:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>2 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Bananas, thinly sliced<\/p>\n<p>1 tot\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Brandy<\/p>\n<p>30g\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Brown Sugar<\/p>\n<p>30g\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Butter<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Method:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In a pan, melt the butter over a high heat.<\/p>\n<p>Add in the bananas, but make sure that they don\u2019t overlap; you want to brown them evenly.<\/p>\n<p>Once brown on both sides, add in the sugar and brandy.<\/p>\n<p>Use a lighter and set the brandy on fire, do be careful that you don\u2019t burn yourself.<\/p>\n<p>Once the flame dies, it means the alcohol has cooked out.<\/p>\n<p>Remove from the heat and set aside.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">What you will need for the chocolate sauce:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>100g\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Dark Chocolate<\/p>\n<p>100ml\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Cream<\/p>\n<p>15ml\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Butter<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Method:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Place a pot filled with water on the stove and bring to the boil.<\/p>\n<p>Get a glass or metal bowl that is big enough to fit on the pot, however, the bottom should not touch the water.<\/p>\n<p>Bring the water down to a simmer.<\/p>\n<p>Put the chocolate in the bowl and place over the pot and then melt the chocolate slowly. Add the butter.<\/p>\n<p>Then, heat the cream and butter.<\/p>\n<p>Once the chocolate is melted add in the heated cream mix and whisk well.<\/p>\n<p>Make sure all the ingredients are well incorporated.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">To assemble:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Take a crepe and place some banana in the middle in a straight line.<\/p>\n<p>Drizzle some chocolate sauce over and roll up.<\/p>\n<p>Continue until the crepes are done.<\/p>\n<p>If desired, drizzle some more chocolate sauce over the crepes.<\/p>\n<p>Serve with ice cream or whipped cream.<\/p>\n<p>Delicious!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On Friday, July 7th, the world will be celebrating one of the sweetest days of the year &#8211; World Chocolate day!
